Riverblade is a UK based Independent Software Vendor (ISV) and Microsoft Partner established in 2004 and specialising in:

We are based in Bournemouth, Dorset, on the south coast of England.

What we do

Software development can be a time consuming and very expensive process requiring highly specialised skills and experience. Even in the most well resourced teams, an inordinate amount of time can be spent chasing down hard to reproduce bugs or unexpected and unwanted behaviour.

It doesn't have to be that way.

Our aim is to provide developers with tools to assist them in improving productivity and code quality and thus reducing the likelyhood of overruns and costly delays. Where more specific assistance is needed, we can also make our developers available to customers to directly assist in addressing issues of quality, usability or resourcing.

Where you will find us

We believe that software quality comes from an attitude based on continuous learning and improvement. As such, we are proud to be able to sponsor the ACCU Conference and European Software Conference. If you are interested in meeting us in person, these conferences provide an ideal venue for doing so.

Why the name?

Names are funny things, and none more so than those belonging to companies. Well chosen names have character and say something.

When our founder Anna was considering starting the business, she spent an inordinate amount of time trying - without success - to think of a suitable name. Every possibility which was examined or suggested was rejected as unsuitable or lacking in character.

The company found its name one morning over breakfast during a conversation between Anna and her partner. For some reason the word "river" found its way into the conversation, and that was enough to spark a mental association leading to a name.

Riverblade is the name resulting from that conversation...the second part of the name (and our logo) being a reference to her interest in medieval living history and past experience on the re-enactment circuit.



People

Any organisation can only be as good as the people within it. Riverblade is a technology lead Independent Software Vendor (ISV) and as such the experience of our staff is key to the quality and success of our products.
