Configuring for CppCheck analysis

Configuring Visual Lint for use with CppCheck is quite straightforward.

Step 1: Run the Configuration Wizard

The Configuration Wizard can be invoked from the Configuration Wizard command on the Visual Lint toolbar. When run, it will guide you through the process of configuring Visual Lint for use with supported analysis tools:

Step 4: Save the changes

Once your CppCheck installation has been located, proceeding through the Completion page will save the changes, whereupon CppCheck will become available for analysis purposes.

It should be noted that the Configuration Wizard is not the only way to configure Visual Lint, as it is also possible to configure it manually via the Visual Lint Options command on the toolbar or (where available) the "Tools" menu.

Step 5 (optional): Customise the analysis configuration

If required, you can customise the CppCheck analysis configuration (e.g. to define how system and project include folders and project preprocessor directives are handled) via the Edit Analysis Tool Configuration command.

If you need to inject specific CppCheck options into the generated analysis command line you can configure Visual Lint to do so via the Command Line page in the Options Dialog.
