Configuring Visual Lint for use with CppCheck is quite straightforward.
The Configuration Wizard can be invoked from the Configuration Wizard command on the Visual Lint toolbar. When run, it will guide you through the process of configuring Visual Lint for use with supported analysis tools:
The Analysis Tools page allows you to select which analysis tool to configure:
The Select Analysis Tool Installation Folder page will guide you through downloading CppCheck (if required) and locate the CppCheck installation folder:
Once your CppCheck installation has been located, proceeding through the Completion page will save the changes, whereupon CppCheck will become available for analysis purposes.
It should be noted that the Configuration Wizard is not the only way to configure Visual Lint, as it is also possible to configure it manually via the Visual Lint Options command on the toolbar or (where available) the "Tools" menu.
If required, you can customise the CppCheck analysis configuration (e.g. to define how system and project include folders and project preprocessor directives are handled) via the Edit Analysis Tool Configuration command.
