Configuring for Vera++ analysis

Configuring Visual Lint for use with Vera++ is quite straightforward.

Step 1: Run the Configuration Wizard

The Configuration Wizard can be invoked from the Configuration Wizard command on the Visual Lint toolbar. When run, it will guide you through the process of configuring Visual Lint for use with supported analysis tools:

Step 4: Save the changes

Once your Vera++ installation has been located, proceeding through the Completion page will save the changes, whereupon Vera++ will become available for analysis purposes.

To use Vera++ the VERA_ROOT environment variable must be defined to point to the location of the "scripts" folder within the Vera++ installation. If this variable is not defined, Visual Lint will define it automatically for the duration of the current process. You will however have to define this variable manually if you wish to run Vera++ analysis command lines directly outside of Visual Lint.

It should also be noted that the Configuration Wizard is not the only way to configure Visual Lint, as it is also possible to configure it manually via the Visual Lint Options command on the toolbar or (where available) the "Tools" menu.
